Entry #6 - A Traveling Artist

Image
Hey everyone, let's chat! Just recently I traveled to Texas, which is crazy since I've never went out of state before, to see my older sister graduate from BMT for the Airforce , and of course, I'm insanely proud. For this entry, however, I want to focus more on traveling. What is traveling? Traveling is the act of going to different places instead of staying in one place. I, however, have stayed in Arizona for 15, almost 16, years so traveling is something that I strive to do when I'm older and something that I find an absolute luxury. So far, I've only traveled to Kenya which is in East Africa . That experience was probably the most fun I've ever had. I constantly hear people complaining about the tedious task of getting their tickets, checking in their bags at the airport, going through TSA, and finding their gate number then almost missing their flight. I, for some reason, enjoy that process a lot to be honest. It's such a surreal feeling to actually go...

Entry #5 - The Art of Mayhem

Image
Video Source Hey everyone, let's talk. You've might've seen some Allstate Mayhem commercials such as the one above at least once in your life. They have a very interesting and comedic concept so let's dive into that!  This particular Allstate Mayhem commercial is titled "Mayhem Action Hero: 60". The commercial consists of many things such as adrenaline music, move credits in the beginning, and Mayhem driving through the city while running over things you'd typically see in a chase scene of an action movie like Fast & Furious  or Mission Impossible . Image Source Image Source This is all being shown while Mayhem narrates the crazy things he's driving through. At the end of the commercial he says, "Get Allstate because mayhem is everywhere." Not only is this a persuasive tactic to get viewers like you and I to purchase Allstate, but it also has some comedic value to it since his name is also Mayhem. Allstate ads tend to include a lot of t...

Entry #4 - A Deeper Look into Artistry

Image
Art is something that I've always been passionate about. Ever since I was a kid, I'd always create little drawings in the multitude of notebooks that my mom bought me constantly. It was my main hobby for most of my childhood, other than gaming of course. It was a calming pastime that I enjoyed a lot. I focused a lot on it and eventually created some works in my freshman year of high school that I'm really proud of. "The Oil Lamp" By: Rosemary M Waweru "The Poisonous Dart Frog" By: Rosemary M Waweru Art can almost always be left up to the viewer's interpretation which is why I enjoy it so much. For example, this photo of Theodore Chasseriauis interpretation of the feast at Macbeth's castle and the death of Banquo in Act 3 Scene 4 of William Shakespeare's Macbeth . Some could infer that this painting looks like the well-known painting of Jesus having his final meal with his apostles in Jerusalem called The Last Supper because of the way Banquo ...

Entry #3 - Illustrative Strokes

Image
Sitting here pondering at my desk, I look over to my left. A shining aluminum tin glimmers under my desk lamp. I think for a moment before reaching over and running my fingertips over the protruding letters on the top of the can. A few seconds pass as I stare at my reflection in the aluminum before slowly picking it up, the contents inside the tin clinking against the metal as I rattle the container slightly.  Image Source "There's only a few left...," I whisper to myself as I sit in my partially dark room. Despite this revelation, I open the tin, setting the lid of it onto my desk with a *ka-clink*. Inside lies three perfectly rounded, snow-white refreshments, all for me. I reach in the tin and pull out one refresher, inspecting it as if it's something different from what it is.  Image Source "These kind of look like pills," I say a little louder as if someone can hear me. I pop the rounded refreshment into my mouth, the strong, icy flavor cooling me down a...
